An old co.worker/friend of Maria's

It has been a very long time since I worked with or have seen Maria but one thing for sure is I never forgot about her...that's one word that sums up Maria-"Unforgettable!". Maria and I worked together at Whittier Area Federal Credit Union currently known as Credit Union of Southern California. She was supervising the Teller Deparment and I was supervising Phone Center and we both reported to Betty Hoover. I'll never forget the time Betty had Maria and I trade jobs for a couple weeks so we could cross train...the first thing I said to Maria when our mission was complete was "I am so sore from standing and running around all day" and she giggled and said "I am so sore from sitting all day". Maria and I both learned a lot from each other and grew in our careers. Afer Maria left our Credit Union I never physically saw her again (which I regret) but I always heard good things about her through the Credit Union families. I knew she was happy and successful and fulfilled- she led a wonderful life, though too short. I struggle with the thought of why bad things happen to good people but I know its selfish to think that way for God had a much bigger plan for Maria and that is why he called her home so soon. As beautiful as life here on earth is, we must remember it is only temporary and our REAL and divine life begins with God in heaven. Maria earned her wings here on earth and is now safe in the arms of our Heavenly Father. I wish eternal peace for Maria's family. God Bless you all, Suzy Anderson

Maria, you are an angel. . . ***V***

Maria, every time I saw you at our all team meeting, dream team conference, credit union annually picnic, etc …You always gave me a big hug and said ”Oh la mamacita Le Wong wee”.
Maria voices so cheerful, her body language so happy and positive, her face always carrying a smile. How can I forget that entire good thing about you Maria! Every time I have a bad day or down time, you were there to cheer me up! There are no words can describe your personality.
You are a good mom, a good wife and a good daughter. I know you always talk about them because you love them so much, specially your 2 boys and your husband.
We work together for so many years but I never ever heard you complain any thing. You are so thoughtful, caring, warm heart, happy, etc…. Oh my God! I can’t stop writing about you Maria!
Why? Why you gone too soon! Why you left us too fast? I don’t want to believe it!
I know you now can see Tanya Hougan. You two are angels in our heart.
Credit union really has a big loss! We loss a good team player, a good supervisor, a good friend and a good hard worker.
My prayers go out to you and your family, especially to your boys and your husband.

Maria, I want you to know “You are always in our heart, you are always on our mind”. You will be missed and remembered forever.

Love,

Le Wong June 27, 2009

Hi Sunshine!

"Hi Sunshine!" was one of Maria's greetings whenever I walked into work and sat at my desk. At first I was not sure if she was teasing me because no one has ever called me "sunshine" before. But I soon realized that Maria was for real and that she meant to brighten my day and really everyone's day. Another one of her sayings was "Hi mamas." Little phrases like that always made me smile and grateful for working at the credit union, especially with her.
I am forever thankful to Maria for always finding the positive things about me and encouraging me to continue to keep doing good work.
The things I learned from Maria just don't apply at work but in life as well. She always had faith in people to do good and believed the best in them. She always found the positive in whatever circumstance I brought to her and helped me see things from another perspective.
I will miss her voice, her smile, her laugh, and I will miss that I did not have the opportunity to spend more time with her and get to know her better. I will miss her on Saturdays when the day is almost over and she says "it's time for the 2:15 stretch!" as she walks on by.
Maria genuinely cared for all of us.
Thank you Maria for all that you are!

Sincerely,
Dana

When I moved from Minnesota to California I was a bit skeptical of the people I was about to meet. You see when you grow up in Minnesota, you hear a lot about Californians. One of the first people I had the pleasure of meeting was Maria. I worked with Maria for several months and knew immediately that all I heard about California as a child was unture. Her genuine smile, positive outlook and upbeat attitude were a constant reminder that life should be what you make of it - love your family, love your job, believe in your faith and the rest will fall into place. She ended every question/sentence with sweetie, making the person she was speaking to feel special. She was special. She carried pictures of her and her husband around let from the 80's in her wallet...I know this because there were mullets involved. She was so proud of her husband and even more so of her boys. As I sit here typing this a tear runs down my face. God bless you Maria.

Angel in Heaven

My heart and prayers go out to the Cedillo family.
I will always remember...Hey Mamacita! Maria would say to me and that alone would make my day. Maria's energy and smile were contagious, you couldn't help but smile back. I will miss her. Thank you for blessing us with an "Angel".

Maria

Your smile full of sunshine which you always greet us when we call you for help. Your guidance and concern for me I will always remember. You will always remind me as Celine Dion :) You are very much missed.

Maria,
21 years ago, you helped Gonz entertain my baby, while I interviewed with Betty at the Westminster branch. You became my trainer, my supervisor, my favorite lunch buddy(especially since you often brought enough home cooked food to share with me), but more importantly, you became my good friend.
20 years ago, while expecting my second child, you found out I had not been given a baby shower, so you surprised me with one. This meant the world to me.
I remember receiving a message at work stating my sister was on hold for me, and to my surprise, it was you calling from Whittier cu, just to say you were thinking of me and wanted to see how I was doing.
Over the years, we laughed together, we cried together, and shared precious stories about our kids.
You are an amazing lady, I love you and I'll miss you.

To Maria's Family

I met Maria a few years ago. Ever since we met, I enjoyed and loved catching up on things with her and most of all I really loved when we talked about our families. Even though we hardly worked together we knew about our families and how our kids were doing. We had a lot of things in common. Maria loved her family so much and spoke so proud of them all. She was so in love with her husband and she was very proud of him… Her last precious phrase in regards her husband was: “He is a good Husband, I am so Proud of him!” She enjoyed being a wonderful mother to her two boys. She had a very nice relationship with her mom and loved her father’s personality. She looked forward to her weekends and spending quality time with all of her love ones. I will miss having our catching up moments. I looked up to Maria for so many reasons… Her believes and her way of enjoying being a wonderful wife, an Awesome Mom! She was an outstanding daughter and sister. Her family was everything to her. I am so glad I came to visit Riverside phone center at the beginning of June. I was blessed by having our last “catch up time” together. I will never forget my friend Maria… her beautiful big eyes, her smile, and easy going personality and always so happy…
My heart aches now; it hurts me to think I will not be able to catch up on things anymore. I will always remember her… and miss her dearly. I know we will meet again, until then my prayers go out to all her family…
